Our group is located at the Institute of Medical Biochemistry Leopoldo de Meis, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). UFRJ was founded in 1920 and is the largest Federal University in Brazil.

The Institute of Medical Biochemistry Leopoldo de Meis (IBqM) is located at the Center for Health Sciences on the main campus.

IBqM was officially created as an Institute in 1998, evolving from a cognate department, and develops research on areas that reflect the breadth of Biochemistry, focusing on understanding basic mechanisms that are relevant for medical conditions.
